Subway TeRapa Race 13 Saturday 31st July 2010
Race 13 of the Subway series saw 34 riders sow up to racing, theweather was also kind with the sun shining for the start of the race, but by the end the clouds had rolled in and the mercury also fell significantly. The first group away conssisted of only 3 riders, one of these was young Callum Wester who was riding his first race of the series. Group 5 & 6 caught group 7 & 8 on the 2nd lap, with group 4 ctching them efore the end of Kainui Road. This group stayed together until the llast clim up Kerrie Road. The legs started tohurt and the stronger riders goot a gap going over the top, and this gap proved toe the winning break. Taking line honors was Jarod Walsh, 2nd was Lester Perry on his single speed bike, 3rd going to Geoff Whitburn. The fastest time went to Alex Heaenney.
Karin Sawers took the points lead from Graham Mackin, and Geoff Whitburn closed in on the two leaders next two weeks are going to be interesting, check points table and results out on the results tab.
It was also good to see a number of junior riders from other clubs.
Thanks to our signage and timing team this week. Pete, Nick, Maxina & Paul.

Subway TeRapa Race 12 Saturday 17th July 2010
38 sign in for race 12, the rain stayed away but the wind was about causing gaps in most groups, some larger than normal groups were off first with the 3rd group made up of 12 riders, break and scratch were thinking the gap was going to be hard to close. Break had other ideas it seemed as they closed in on theis group on mid way thru lap two, and had all bar the first off the line prior to the start of lap three, scratch had made no time into them at this point, and may have not put in any time if break had not slowed by 30 seconds on the last lap. The break riders were trying to get away of the others but were forced to wait till the final climb to make a gap. At which point all riders had been caught. The sprint for the line, was contested by brake, with Scott Marray taking the win (not bad for a guy whom has not raced for 3 years) followed closely behind by Geoff, Graham, Craig and Scott, with Julia, Pip and Amanda following close behind. Fastest time was taken out by Alex Heaenney on his first outing to Hamilton, from Morrinsiville. Was great to see a number of Morrinsiville riders at racing we hope you enjoyed the racing and course.
Graham Mackin took the points lead today from Karin Sawers. Check Results and points tabel for details
